§ 22.300  CREATED; POWERS
   In order to minimize the destructiveness resulting from fire, flood, tornado, other natural or man-caused disasters, riot, enemy attack, sabotage, explosion, power failure, energy shortages, transportation emergencies or other causes, and the threatened or impending happening of any of the above, and in order to insure that preparations and response for the city will be adequate to deal with disasters or emergencies or the threat of same and in order to preserve life and property of the people of the city and to protect the public peace, health and safety, it is hereby found and declared to be necessary:
   (A)   To create and maintain an agency within the city government for disaster and emergency response and to work with Butler County in a joint effort for organization, administration and operation of such program.  The title of the agency is to be "Butler County Disaster and Emergency Services".
   (B)   To provide for the appointment of a director or to acknowledge the appointment of a director by the Butler County judge/executive with duties and responsibilities to the city as specified hereinafter and additional responsibilities bestowed upon him by the appointing authority.
   (C)   To provide for the arrangements of mutual aid among the city agencies and nongovernment agencies the full utilization of city resources during emergency and disaster situations.
