153.07 EDUCATIONAL EXPENSES.
   When desired and directed to do so by the Mayor or Council, an employee may attend a school to become qualified or increase qualifications for employment with the Municipality. Upon the successful completion of such course as evidenced by certification or other evidence of having satisfactorily completed the required work undertaken, the Village hereby authorizes reimbursement, provided such expenses are not otherwise reimbursed, of one-third of the direct schooling expenses incurred by such employee of such program, to include tuition, books and supplies, but not including room, board and travel, and one year after that, an additional one-third of such expenses and another year after that, the balance of one-third of such expenses shall be reimbursed to such employee, who shall have remained in the Village's employ continuously through such period.
   To the fullest extent permissible under law, all educational expenses reimbursed pursuant to this section shall be repaid to the Village if the employee who received the educational expense reimbursement leaves the Village's employment for any reason within five years of the completion of the school or course paid for by the Village.
