153.03 EMERGENCY WORK.
   All emergency work shall be compensated at one and one-half times the regular rate. Emergency work is unplanned and unforseen work that necessitates immediate action and which must be performed at a nonscheduled time. Emergency work includes snow removal when it must be performed at a nonscheduled time. Emergency work does not include scheduled overtime, work that is planned in advance, or work that may be completed with reasonable adjustments, as determined by the Department Head and the Mayor, to work schedules.
   Emergency work is authorized at the discretion of the employee’s supervisor or Department Head with the approval of the Mayor.
   Any employee called in for emergency work at a time that does not abut the employee’s scheduled work time shall be paid a minimum of three (3) hours.
