(A) The Joint Planning Commission shall consist of nine (9) members. The Mayor of the City of Morehead shall appoint three (3) members who are residents of the City of Morehead, to be approved by the Board of City Council of the City of Morehead, Kentucky. The Mayor of Lakeview Heights shall appoint three (3) members who represent the City of Lakeview Heights, to be approved by the Commission. The Judge Executive of the County of Rowan shall appoint three (3) members who are residents of the County of Rowan, to be approved by the Rowan County Fiscal Court. The oath of office shall be administered to all members of the Commission before entering upon their duties. The oath shall be administered as provided by law.
(B) The term of office of the members shall be four (4) years, and until their successors take office. However, no member shall serve more than two (2) consecutive four (4) year terms.
(C) All vacancies, whether by resignation, dismissal, or expiration of the term of office, shall be filled within sixty (60) days by the appropriate appointing authority or as otherwise provided for in KRS 100.147. A member may be removed by the appropriate appointing authority for inefficiency, neglect of duty, malfeasance, or conflict of interest. The removed member shall have the right of appeal in the manner prescribed by KRS 100.157.
(D) Members shall serve without compensation, but reimbursement of expenses may be authorized.
