(a) Upon filing the application and upon payment of a license fee of one hundred dollars ($100.00) by any person, firm or corporation, who is eligible to become a surety hereunder, and, upon written approval of the Clerk of the Mayor's Court, a license may be issued by the Clerk authorizing such person, firm or corporation to become surety upon any bail, recognizance bond, appeal bond, supersedeas or other court bond required to be filed in the Mayor's Court.
(b) Such license shall state the total amount for which the license may be accepted as surety, and the amount shall not exceed the tax value of the real estate, or the tax value of the equity therein owned by the licensee and/or the total amount granted by the licensee, and/or the total amount granted by the power of attorney of a reputable insurance surety or bonding company, and/or the market value of bonds and other securities deposited by the licensee, pursuant to the provisions of Ohio R. C. 2937.24.
