§ 52.18 LIABILITY FOR REPAIRS.
After the initial connection has been made to the curb stop, the owner of the premises shall be liable for all repairs required to the service line from the premises to the curb stop. The Utility shall be liable for all repairs from the curb stop to the main including any repairs necessary to the curb stop box and any necessary street repairs. It shall be the responsibility of the owner to maintain the stop box at such height as will insure that it remains at the finished grade of the land or property. For leaks at the connection between the owner’s service line and the curb stop box the Utility shall make the repair; however the cost will be jointly shared between the owner and Utility. This section shall not preclude the Utility from billing the owner of the premises or some other person for damage to the curb stop or other portion of the service line under the responsibility of the Utility for damage caused by willful or negligent action or neglect.
