§ 92.33 INVESTIGATION OF FIRES.
   (A)   The Fire Chief or his or her designated deputy shall investigate the origin, cause and circumstances of any fire of unknown origin occurring within the town. As far as is possible, the Fire Chief or his or her designated deputy shall determine whether the fire is the result of carelessness or is by design.
   (B)   The Fire Chief or his or her designated deputy shall investigate, assist in the prosecution of and support suppression of, arson and other crimes associated with the destruction or attempted destruction of property by fire in the town, shall take immediate charge of physical evidence, notify any other authority designated by law to assist in the investigation of such matters and cooperate with such other authorities in the prosecution of the case.
