The Town building official shall be appointed by the Town Board of Trustees and shall have the powers and duties prescribed for the building official by the Town Building Codes; provided, that his powers and duties may by exercised by his authorized representative under his supervision and control. The term "building inspector", "plumbing inspector" and "gas inspector", wherever used in this Code and the ordinances of the Town, also each refer to and mean the building official, unless a separate electrical inspector, plumbing inspector, or gas inspector is appointed by the Town Board of Trustees.
