(A) Any dog biting a person or other animal shall be confined for a period of 14 days at a suitable place of impoundment approved by the Chief of Police and may be examined by a licensed veterinarian at the owner’s expense.
(B) Confinement shall include solitary kenneling and exclusion from other animals or persons during the 14-day period. If this is possible, the dog may be quarantined at the home of the owner, if within in the city.
(C) In circumstances where testing is required, the dog must be quarantined for at least 14 days under veterinary observation and then destroyed for the purposes of necropsy.
