(a) The Fire Department shall consist of a Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, and such officers and persons as are authorized by the bylaws of the Volunteer Fire Department.
(b) The Fire Department is authorized to appoint up to five reserve volunteer second- call firefighters. They shall attend training meetings and shall be paid for the same at the rate of regular volunteer firefighters. They will also be paid for such second-call fires that they respond to.
(c) (1) Compensation shall be payable semi-annually.
(2) The Assistant Chief shall be paid at the firefighters' rate for the time he is absent from his regular employment on official Fire Department business as approved by the Manager.
