(a) The Fire Department is hereby authorized to provide fire protection to any county, municipal corporation, or township of this State or to a governmental entity of an adjoining state (with or without a contract to provide fire protection) upon the authorization of the persons hereinafter set forth.
(b) The extension of fire protection outside of Montpelier shall first be authorized by the Mayor or the Manager or the Fire Chief or Deputy Fire Chief or the shift supervisor or any other fireman designated by the Fire Chief or Manager.
(c) The Manager and/or the Fire Chief may establish policies to further implement this section; however, such policies shall be for the internal operation of the Fire Department (and may provide guidelines and rules which, if violated, would subject a fireman to disciplinary action) and shall not be construed to remove any fireman, Municipal officer or employee, or the Municipality of Montpelier from the benefits of Ohio R.C. 9.60.
