129.01 POLICE PROTECTION OUTSIDE MUNICIPALITY.
   (a)   The police are hereby authorized to provide police protection to any county, municipal corporation, or township of this State or to a governmental entity of an adjoining state (with or without a contract to provide police protection) upon the authorization of the persons hereinafter set forth.
   (b)   The extension of police protection outside of the Municipality shall be first authorized by the Mayor, the Manager, the Chief of Police, any supervisor, or any police officer on duty.
   (c)   The Chief of Police may establish policies to further implement this section; however, such policies shall be for the internal operation of the Police Department (and may include guidelines and rules which, if violated, would subject an officer to disciplinary action) and shall not be construed to remove any police officer, Municipal officer or employee, or the Municipality from the benefits of Ohio R.C. 737.041.
