(A) There is hereby created a Park Board consisting of five members, three members who shall be appointed by the Mayor subject to approval by Council by a vote of not less than two-thirds majority of its members and two members who shall be appointed by the Montpelier Board of Education. Members of the Park Board created by ordinances adopted under the general statutory plan of government serving at the effective date of this Charter shall continue to serve as members of the Park Board created by this Charter. Thereafter, members of the Park Board shall be appointed to serve for terms of five years, provided that initial appointments under this Charter may be for lesser terms of office and in a manner to assure that one member of the Park Board be appointed each year.
(B) The powers, duties, and functions of the Park Board shall be as provided by this Charter, as are conferred by the general laws of the State of Ohio or by ordinances and resolutions of this Municipality.
