Section 6.02 Removal.
The Manager shall serve at the pleasure of Council which may impose such discipline upon the Manager, short of suspension without pay or termination, by following such procedures as Council has established. The Manager may be suspended from office without pay or terminated from office by Council upon two-thirds vote of its membership at any time during the first six months of the Manager's employment. Upon completion of six months service, the Manager may still be suspended without pay or terminated by Council upon a two-thirds vote of its membership by notifying the Manager in writing of the action and the reason for such action. If the action is for removal, the Manager's status shall become that of suspended without pay immediately upon passage of the action of Council.
If the Manager files with the Mayor or the President of Council a written request for a public hearing within five days of such receipt of the notice, the public hearing shall be afforded the Manager within fourteen days of the filing of such request. At such hearing Council, by a majority vote of the members present, may cancel or modify the suspension or the termination.
