(a) For new fire protection service installations made after the effective date of this section, customers shall install at their own expense, subject to Municipal inspection and approval, all of the necessary complete and separate piping system extending from customer’s system and connecting to the existing water main, including the total installed cost of the necessary check meter required to determine the flow of water in the fire service line. (b) (1) Effective January 1, 2014, for all existing and future fire protection service supplied as to either fire hydrants or sprinkler systems, a special charge (in addition to the above rate charges and any line extensions costs) will be made as follows:

(2) The above special charge applies only where the special charge service line for fire hydrant or sprinkler service is larger than the regular service line that supplies customer’s normal requirement.
