(a) It shall be unlawful for any solicitor, canvasser, or peddler to engage in the acts of soliciting, canvassing, or peddling within the corporate limits without first obtaining a license therefor in compliance with the provisions of this chapter.
(b) It shall be unlawful for any solicitor, canvasser, or peddler to engage in the acts of soliciting, canvassing, or peddling within the corporate limits, with or without a license, where the premises are marked by a sign reasonably visible that indicates that solicitors, canvassers, or peddlers are not welcome. The words “No Soliciting” or other comparable language shall be sufficient to put any solicitor, canvasser, or peddler on notice that they are not welcome.
