(a) No person shall hunt, kill or attempt to kill any animal or fowl by the use of firearms, bow and arrow, rifle, or any other means within the corporate limits.
The following are affirmative defenses to a charge under this section:
(1) The act of the killing or attempted killing where it is by a police officer during the performance of his official duties; or
(2) The act was by a person in self-defense from eminent personal injury or death, or the defense of another from injury or death, or in protecting the life of his personal pet, civilian assistant dog, or domestic farm animal that is legally within the place where the act occurred.

(b) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor for the first offense and a misdemeanor of the fourth degree for each subsequent offense.
