3-1-3: BUSINESS LICENSE REQUIRED:
It shall be a Class B misdemeanor and subject to penalty as provided in section 1-4-6 of this Code for any person to transact, engage in or carry on any business, trade, profession, calling or to operate a vending, pinball or coin operated machine without first receiving the class or type of license required by the City. Any person conducting business in the Monticello City limits who is of "minor status" according to Utah Code section 15-2-1, or S.B. 81, will not be required to obtain a business license.
   A   Home Occupations: The following home occupations are required to obtain and maintain a current City business license and meet all requirements of section 10-2-4 of this Code. All other home occupations may operate without a City business license, and are considered "exempt", but must comply with the remainder of this chapter as well as all applicable local, State, and Federal laws.
      1   In home child or adult care and preschool businesses.
      2   Businesses that require or attract more than ten (10) vehicle trips per day, including but not limited to package delivery, client visits, and employee trips.
      3   Any business that is required to have a fire inspection; and any business that is required to obtain a license from another government agency, such as the Department of Health. (Ord. 2018-3, 10-9-2018, eff. 10-9-2018)
