§ 73.48 REGISTRATION AND PERMIT PERIOD.
   Any golf cart to be operated on a city street shall be first registered by the Monticello Police Department. Such permit shall be issued on an annual basis and will be valid from April 1 until March 31 of each registration year. Each registrant shall provide the vehicle identification number and proof of financial responsibility as required herein with respect to each golf cart to be registered and shall pay an annual registration fee in such sum as determined by the City Council for each golf cart to be registered. All such fees collected shall be deposited into the city’s law enforcement continuing education fund. The registration certificate issued by the city shall be maintained on the golf cart in an easily visible location at all times that it is in operation. The city may issue a single use or temporary permit as may be determined by the City Council, subject to any restrictions on the time and area of operation as may be determined by the City Council.
