§ 51.080 PRETREATMENT REQUIRED FROM CERTAIN INDUSTRIES.
   (A)   Pretreatment of industrial wastes from major contributing industries prior to discharge to the treatment works is required and is subject to the rules and regulations adopted by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and published in the Federal Register on November 8, 1973 (40 CFR Part 128), and “Federal Guidelines Establishing Test Procedures for Analysis of Pollutants” published in the Federal Register on October 16, 1973 (40 CFR Part 136), in addition to any more stringent requirements established by the city, and any subsequent state or federal guidelines and rules and regulations.
   (B)   Industrial pretreatment limits for the following heavy metals are:
      (1)   Arsenic: 0.30 mg/l;
      (2)   Lead: 2.4 mg/l;
      (3)   Molybdenum: 0.29 mg/l;
      (4)   Zinc: 0.94 mg/l;
      (5)   Copper: 1.2 mg/l;
      (6)   Mercury: 0.18 mg/l; and
      (7)   Nickel: 1.8 mg/l.
   (C)   Specific limits on the substances listed above, such that the following are limited:
      (1)   A pollutant contributed by an industrial user that has cause or is likely to cause interference or pass through at the receiving sewage treatment plant; and
      (2)   The recurrence of the contributed pollutant's affect on the sewage treatment plant.
