§ 31.20 CITY ATTORNEY.
   There is hereby created the Office of City Attorney, who shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to the advice and consent of the City Council. The City Attorney shall be licensed to practice in the State of Illinois but need not be a resident of the city. The City Attorney shall have the powers and duties as prescribed by law.
