§ 10.20 AMENDMENTS; PENALTIES; RECORDING.
   (A)   Reference to code. Any additions or amendments to this code, when passed in a form clearly expressing the title, chapter and section being amended or added, will be updated in the current municipal code, kept on file at the Municipal Building, 210 N. Hamilton, and all other codes will be updated semi-annually.
   (B)   Penalties. In case of amendment of any division of this code containing the provisions for which a penalty is provided in another division, the penalty so provided in the other division shall be held to relate to the amended division or the amending division, whether reenacted in the amendatory ordinance or not, unless the penalty is specifically repealed therein.
   (C)   Recording amendments.
      (1)   (a)   It shall be the duty of the City Clerk to keep at least 1 copy of the code of the City of Monticello, Illinois up to date with all amendments and additions thereto. Each ordinance adopted by the City Council that amends or makes an addition to the code shall contain as exhibits thereto those pages of the code affected by the amendment or addition. The pages shall contain the amendment or addition adopted by the City Council as well as the divisions that appear on the same page(s) as the change.
         (b)   The City Clerk shall remove from his or her copy of the code the affected page(s) and insert the new page(s) that reflect the change.
      (2)   The above-mentioned records shall be kept in addition to the record of ordinances, which the Clerk is required to keep by statute.
