§ 35.41 APPOINTMENT/REMOVAL.
   Pursuant to ILCS Ch. 65, Act 5, §§ 10-2.1-4 et seq., the City Council of the city hereby declares and directs that the power to appoint, remove and/or discharge persons to or from the office of Chief of Police of the city is hereby vested in the Mayor of the city, with the advice and consent of the City Council, which together is hereby declared to be the appointing authority for the Chief of Police of the city.
