Pursuant to the authority granted to City Council by Charter § 6.04, Council hereby designates the classified service of the city to include all uniformed employees in the Police Department and Fire and Emergency Medical Service, excluding the Chief of Police, all lieutenants in the Police Department, the Fire Chief and all assistant chiefs within the Fire Department. The uniformed employees within such departments shall not include any clerical or administrative positions within such departments, nor shall they include any temporary or part-time positions within either department nor any members of the auxiliary unit of the Police Department.
