A delinquency charge in an amount set by a resolution of the city council shall be added to any of the utility charges listed in subsections 8-2-1A, B and C of this chapter when the same are not paid on the date specified for payment in the bill therefor sent by the city; provided, however, that no more than one such delinquency charge be added to any bill. The city may, if it so desires, turn off water services for any premises to which there is a delinquent utility charge after giving ten (10) days' notice of its intention so to do, together with an opportunity to be heard as to the delinquency, after such delinquency has continued for at least ten (10) days from the due date thereof. Utility charges for water service shall commence as of the date the service is turned on at the street. (Ord. 722, 12-7-1992)
