Any dog or cat which is not claimed as provided in section 5-4-8 of this chapter, within five (5) days after impounding, may be sold with the proceeds applied to the cost of confinement and sale, and the balance returned to the city. If, after making reasonable efforts to sell the dog or cat, no sale is obtained, the dog or cat may be humanely destroyed or given away. (Ord. 897, 4-5-2010)
