5-1-1: STATE CRIMINAL CODE ADOPTED BY REFERENCE:
Except insofar as the application thereof is clearly impractical or inappropriate, in view of the context of purposes or penalty as provided, all of the definitions, requirements, regulations, prohibitions, provisions and sections of the state criminal code 1 as amended, are hereby adopted by the city. Any and all violations thereof shall be considered violations of this chapter, and each such violation shall subject the violator thereof to penalty provisions under this chapter if proceeded hereunder. 5-1-2: FIREARM RESTRICTIONS:
   A.   Discharging Firearms: It shall be unlawful for any person (except police officers in the discharge of their duties) to shoot or discharge any firearm of any kind or description, whether the same be loaded or blank, or any kind of explosive whatever, or any kind of fireworks or explosive dangerous to persons or property, within or into the limits of the city. For purposes of this section, firearms shall include BB guns, airsoft guns (except when used on a permitted airsoft course) and other similar guns.
   B.   Minors: No minor under the age of fourteen (14) shall handle, possess or have control of any firearm of any kind for hunting or target practice or any other purpose except while accompanied by or under the immediate control of the minor's parent or guardian. No parent or guardian shall knowingly permit a minor to violate this subsection.
   C.   Launching Projectiles: It shall be unlawful for any person to launch, by means other than by hand, any projectile not banned by subsection A of this section, anywhere within or into the confines of the city limits without the express permission of the property owner of all properties where the activity is taking place. Projectiles shall include, but not be limited to: paintball guns, bows and arrows, crossbows, blowguns, and slingshots. (Ord. 926, 11-4-2013)
5-1-3: DISTURBING THE PEACE:
No person shall use abusive or obscene language, nor wilfully engage in any quarrel, brawling or fighting in any public place. (1998 Code)
5-1-4: POSTING BILLS:
No person shall put up any handbills, advertisements, posters, show bills, or other sign on any property without permission from the owner thereof. (Ch. 105)
5-1-5: REFUSAL TO AID OFFICERS:
No person, after having been lawfully commanded to make or aid in an arrest, or in executing any legal process, shall wilfully neglect or refuse to do so. (Ch. 105)
5-1-6: THEATERS; SMOKING RESTRICTED:

5-1-7: BICYCLES, SKATEBOARDS, SCOOTERS, ROLLERBLADES, ROLLER SKATES; RESTRICTIONS:
No person shall ride a skateboard or scooter, or rollerblade or rollerskate, in the downtown business district of the city, described as between State Road and the south line of Eureka Avenue and vacated Eureka Avenue and between the west line of 3rd Street right of way and the west line of 1st Street West in the city of Montevideo. Bicycles which comply with section 6-1-6 of this code may be ridden on the streets, avenues or alleys in the downtown business district, but no person shall ride a bicycle on any sidewalk in such area. This section will apply to other, similar, nonmotorized devices, even if not specifically named herein. (Ord. 807, 1-8-2001)
