Vegetated channels with a gradient of less than 1% or that are subject to low flows of long duration or where wet conditions prevail shall be drained with a tile system or by other means like paved gutters. Tile lines may be drained through a drop structure at the end of the channels or through a standard tile outlet. Tiles shall be bedded in granular materials that will not pass through tile wall openings. Tiles shall be installed with a minimum of 24 inches of cover over the top of the tile and shall be offset from the centerline of the channel. Any cover less than 24 inches is subject to Plan Commission approval.
