§ 152.072 SIDE SLOPES.
Side slopes of earthen channels shall be no steeper than 3:1, justified by local materials and approved by the Commission. Flatter slopes may be required to prevent erosion and for ease of maintenance. Where channels will be lined, as per § 152.077, side slopes shall be no steeper than 1½:1 with adequate provisions made for weep holes. Side slopes steeper than 1½:1 may be used for lined channels, provided that the side lining and structural retaining wall are designed and constructed with provisions for live and dead load surcharges. Side slopes of ditches located along roadways must be traversable and comply with Appendix B guidelines, as are on file in the Clerk-Treasurer’s office.
