(a) No person shall operate a golf cart on the streets within the Village of Monroeville unless the golf cart has been inspected and approved by the Chief of Police or his/her designee for compliance with the State of Ohio’s statutory requirements that are applicable to motor vehicles. Appointments for inspections can be scheduled through the Police Department. The owner or operator of any golf cart shall be required to pay an inspection fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00).
(b) If the Chief of Police or his/her designee determines that the golf cart complies with the minimum State of Ohio statutory requirements applicable to motor vehicles, including a Certificate of Title from the Clerk of Courts, a Certificate of Compliance shall be issued. For the purpose of the inspection, the Police Department shall utilize the Golf Cart Underspeed Vehicle Inspection Sheet, a copy of which is attached to this Ordinance as “Exhibit A”.
