When an applicant has been granted permission to make an excavation in any public street, alley, right-of-way or easement, he/she shall keep the excavation properly barricaded and protected until it has been filled by him/her and approved by the Village Administrator or Street Superintendent. During the night, appropriate lights shall be placed by the applicant near the excavation to insure proper protection to the public.
