1511.06 PLACEMENT AND USE OF OUTDOOR WOOD BURNING HEATING UNITS.
   (a)   Permit to Install. 
      (1)   No person shall install an Outdoor Heating Unit without first obtaining a permit from the Zoning Department. The cost of said permit shall be determined by Council.
      (2)   The applicant shall provide to the Zoning Inspector a drawing showing the location the proposed installation on the property and its proximity to neighboring structures. Said drawing shall include the distance from property lines and structures on, and adjacent to, the property as well as the height of all structures on, and adjacent to, the proposed installation. The height of the proposed stack shall also be included on the drawing.
   (b)   Location; Stack Height.
      (1)   No Outdoor Heating Unit shall be located less than seventy five (75) feet from any residential or commercial structure. Units located seventy five (75) feet from any residential or commercial structure shall have a stack height of at least two (2) feet higher than the eave height of the nearest structure.
      (2)   If located more than seventy five (75) feet but less than one hundred (100) feet the stack height shall be no less than seventy-five percent (75%) of the eave height of the nearest residential or commercial structure plus two (2) feet.
      (3)   If located more than one hundred (100) feet but less than one hundred fifty (150) feet, the stack shall be no less than fifty percent (50%) of the eave height of the nearest residential or commercial structure plus two (2) feet.
      (4)   If located more than one hundred and fifty (150) feet but less than two hundred (200) feet, the stack shall be not less than twenty-five percent (25%) of the eave height of the nearest residential or commercial structure plus two (2) feet.
   (c)   Fuel/Wood.
      (1)   No person shall burn fuel in any Outdoor Heating Units other than the fuel recommended by the manufacturer.
      (2)   The burning of trash, plastics, gasoline, naphtha, household garbage, material treated with petroleum products, particle board, railroad ties, telephone poles, pressure treated wood, leaves, paper products and cardboard, or any other material that would cause offensive or noxious odors, smoke or airborne ash and debris is prohibited.
   (d)   Maintenance of Unit/Screening of Fuel.
      (1)   The exterior of any Outdoor Heating Unit shall be properly maintained and kept in good condition in accordance with the manufactures maintenance recommendations.
      (2)   Wood, fuel, and all other combustible material shall be neatly stacked and kept at a distance from the unit to prevent accidental ignition and shall be properly screened by means of walls, fencing or shrubbery in accordance with the current Zoning Ordinances regulating said screening, as deemed necessary by the Zoning Inspector.
