§ 33.052 EMPLOYMENT OF RELATIVES.
The employment of relatives in the same area of an organization may cause serious conflicts and problems with favoritism and employee morale. In addition, personal conflicts from outside the work environment can be carried over into day-to-day working relationships.

Further, no sitting Council member shall directly or indirectly influence or attempt to influence any employment decision including but not limited to promotions, demotions, pay or benefit increases, reprimand or other personnel action on behalf of an immediate family member. IMMEDIATE FAMILY is defined as spouse, mother, father, guardian, child, sister, brother, grandparents, grandchild, plus the various combinations of half, step, in-laws and adoptive relationships that can be derived from those named. This section shall not be applied retroactively to immediate family members employed prior to its adoption.
