6-1-2: DUTIES OF HEALTH OFFICER:
It shall be the duty of the health officer to carry out all orders of the mayor and council relating to the sanitary regulations of the city and, from time to time, to make a thorough examination of the city and to cause all nuisances to be abated with all reasonable promptness; and for that purpose such officer shall be permitted at all reasonable times, to enter into any house, store, stable or building and cause the floor to be raised, if necessary, to make a thorough examination of cellars, vaults, drains and sinks, to enter upon all lots or grounds and to cause all stagnant waters to be drained off, and ponds, sinks, vaults, drains or low grounds to be cleansed, filled up or otherwise purified. It shall be unlawful for any person to interrupt or interfere with the health officer in the performance of his duty.
The health officer shall inspect the entire city at least once a year and report to the council as to the sanitary condition thereof. (Ord. 220, 6-5-1978)
