4-3-3: FAILURE TO REMEDY NUISANCE, COUNCIL ACTION:
If it shall appear to the city council after due investigation of such report that such building, walls or structure is in such dangerous condition as aforesaid and the owner or his agent, or the lessee or occupant thereof, if within his power or duty so to do, shall fail within a reasonable time to be fixed by the city council, and after notice thereof in writing served on such owner or his agent, or upon such lessee or occupant, by such officer of the city as the city council shall direct, specifying wherein such building is unsafe, defective or unlawful, to make the same safe in such a way as the city council may direct, said building, wall or structure shall, upon the order of said city council, be torn down and removed by the building commissioner or made safe as said city council may order.
