4-2-3: ASSIGNING OF HOUSE NUMBERS:
It shall be the duty of the building inspector of the city to assign house numbers under the provisions of this chapter. Such house numbers shall be designated on any building permit issued by said building inspector in addition to the legal description of the property.
The building inspector shall cooperate with any individual requesting the numbering of lots, buildings and structures in subdivisions or elsewhere within and adjacent to the City limits.
The building inspector shall keep a record showing the proper street number assigned to any lot, building or structure designated under the provisions of this chapter, and such record shall be open to inspection by anyone interested.
Appeal from the decision of the building inspector may be taken to the Zoning Board of Appeals 1 of the City by any interested person. It shall not be necessary for said Zoning Board of Appeals to publish any form of notice in connection with hearings held pursuant to the provisions of this chapter.
In the absence of or inability to act by the building inspector, the alternate building inspector shall perform the duties required by this chapter, and the Zoning Board of Appeals may assume the duties provided under this chapter to the exclusion of the building inspector or alternate building inspector should they deem it necessary.
Numbers designated under the provisions of this chapter shall be changed only by action of the building inspector, the Zoning Board of Appeals or the City Council. (Ord., 4-1-1963)
