SEC. 8-6101.   AMENDMENTS TO MOLINE ELECTRICAL CODE - GENERAL.
   The National Electrical Code portion of the Moline Electrical Code adopted in this article by reference is specifically amended as follows:
   1.   Section 210.8(A) Dwelling Units. Delete working “through 250-volt”
   2.   Section 210.8(A)(5) Add two additional exceptions:
      All 125-volt receptacles in a finish basement shall not be required to have Ground-Fault Circuit-Interruptor Protection for Personnel.
      Sump pumps shall not be required to have Ground-Fault Circuit-Interruptor protection installed for the receptacle as long as this receptacle in a Simplex Style (Single) receptacle.
   3.   Section (B) Other Than Dwelling Units. Delete entire Section 210.8(B) 2020 NEC and replace Section 210.8(B) Other than Dwelling Units with 2011 NEC.
      Add one additional exception before the current exceptions:
      "Exception No. 1 to (2): Commercial (non-residential) refrigerators and freezers will not be required to have ground-fault-circuit-interrupter protection if the receptacle is a Simplex Style (Single) receptacle."
   4.   Delete Section 210.8(F).
   (a)   Section 210.52(C)(2) Island and Peninsular Countertops and Work Surface. Delete Section 210.52(C)(2) of the 2020 NEC.
   (b)   Article 230 Services.
      1.   Add one new section:
      "Section 230.45 Service-Entrance Conductors Inside Structures.
      When located inside a structure, non-fused service entrance conductors shall not extend more than ten (10) feet inside the structure unless the code official permits the ten (10) feet to be increased."
      2.   Section 230.67 Surge Protection. Delete Section 230.67.
      3.   Section 230.85 Emergency Disconnects. Delete Section 230.85.
   (c)   Article 310 Conductors for General Wiring.
      Section 310.3(A) Change 14 AWG copper to 12 AWG copper. Change 12 AWG aluminum to 10 AWG aluminum.
   (d)   Article 334 Nonmetallic-Sheathed Cable: Type NM and NMC.
      1.   Section 334.10 Delete 334.10(3), (4), and (5).
      2.   Section 334.10(3) Add - Type NM and NMC Cable can be used for the wiring of motels, hotels and assisted care facilities of type III, IV and V construction where the cable is concealed within walls, floors, and ceilings that provide a thermal barrier of material that has at least a 15-minute finish rating as identified in listings of fire-rated assemblies.
   (e)   Section 404.2 Schedule of permit fees.
   Insert the following in place of "[JURISDICTION TO INSERT APPROPRIATE SCHEDULE]":
