In order to promote the realization of the official plan of the village and contiguous territory; in order to provide reasonable requirements for public streets, community facilities and other public grounds; in order to provide for the health, safety, comfort and convenience of the residents of the village and contiguous territory; the following regulations establishing reasonable standards of design and procedure for subdivisions and for resubdivisions of unimproved land and of areas subject to redevelopment within the village and contiguous unincorporated territory are hereby adopted as part of the official map of the village.
