A. The initial fee to register a vacant building shall be one hundred dollars ($100.00) and shall be paid in advance to the building and zoning administrator at the time of submittal of a fully completed registration form. The registration shall be valid for a period of one calendar year from the date of registration. The registration fee shall not be prorated.
B. An owner shall be required to annually reregister the vacant building on the anniversary date of the date of registration as long as the building remains vacant and shall pay the renewal fee of one hundred dollars ($100.00). A reminder letter shall be sent by the building and zoning inspector prior to the expiration date regarding the requirement to reregister the vacant building and payment of the renewal fee. However, the failure to receive an expiration notification shall not be a defense for the failure to reregister the vacant building. (Ord. 2010-O-002, 1-11-2010)
