The village president shall annually appoint one member to act as chairman. As soon as possible after the annual appointments, the members of the planning commission shall organize by electing a vice chairman, secretary and any such officers as shall in their judgment be necessary. If the planning commission believes it advisable to secure technical advice or service, it may do so upon authorization from the president and board of trustees from monies appropriated for that purpose. The chairman of the planning commission shall receive as compensation thirty five dollars ($35.00) per meeting attended. All other members of the planning commission shall receive as compensation twenty five dollars ($25.00) per meeting attended. No compensation shall be received for meetings not attended.
