§ 94.26 NOTICE TO OWNER.
   (A)   Upon information that such an unsafe tree or limb exists upon lands in the municipality, the Legislative Authority shall cause written notice to be served on the owner, lessee, agent, or tenant having charge of such land, giving notice that an unsafe tree or limb exists on such lands and that they must be cut or trimmed within 15 days after service of such notice.
   (B)   The notice shall be sent to the last known address of the owner or other person having charge of the land, or delivered by the Chief of Police or a police officer. If the owner or other person having charge served by the Police Chief of police officer is a nonresident of the village whose address is known, the notice shall be sent to his or her address by certified mail. If the address of the owner or other person having charge of and land is unknown, it is sufficient to publish the notice once in a newspaper of general circulation in the county.
