(A) It is unlawful to use any motor vehicle with or without appurtenances attached thereto so as to create loud or unnecessary rating, grinding, rattling or other noise. This shall include the use of any vehicle when such use causes excessive noise as a result of a defective or modified exhaust system, or as a result of unnecessary rapid acceleration, deceleration, or revving.
(B) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor and is subject to a fine up to $100.
