§ 52.064 METERING AND SAMPLING DEVICES.
   (A)   All consumers shall be individually metered and plumbed before permanent water service is established. For new multi-family installations (duplexes, triplexes, and the like) the village requires that each occupancy unit have a separate sewer line and also that all buildings designed for multiple occupancy be separately metered for each occupancy unit. Existing structures being converted to multi-family residences must install separate meters for each occupancy unit before service is provided.
   (B)   All wastewater metering required by the village or requested by a consumer must be designed, inspected and installed to village specifications. The meter shall also be recalibrated at the consumer's expense and arrangement, per village requirements. The specific village requirements may be defined on a case-by-case basis.
   (C)   Additional meters for industrial or consumer purposes, such as non-sewered usages and/or subtraction (deduct) meters may be installed subject to the approval of the village. All costs of such installations shall be borne by the property owner. The owner shall notify the Utility of any change or partial change in the status of any non-sewered water meter. Failure to do so may result in back charging of sewer use charges for a period of one year and/or termination of the non-sewered meter.
   (D)   Consumers may install a non-sewer water meter if approved by the village in accordance with § 52.002.
   (E)   All meters will be equipped with a remote reader that must be installed at the same height as the electric meter and within one foot of either side of the meter, unless other arrangements are approved by the Water Department. It is the responsibility of the consumer to have the remote meter installed and inspected by the village before service is provided.
   (F)   No consumer shall sub-meter for, or allow other person or parties to connect (either temporarily or permanently) to their sanitary sewer facilities, whether for profit or for non-profit. Any violation of this provision shall subject all water and/or sanitary sewer services to the premises to be discontinued until such violation is corrected to the satisfaction of the village.
