All sidewalks within the village shall be built by or under the direction of the public works committee and in such manner as the president and board of trustees may provide. (1904 Code § 24.1; amd. 1977 Code)
The village president and board of trustees may, from time to time, order the construction of sidewalks whenever they may deem the public interest requires it, specifying the manner in which the sidewalks shall be constructed and designate the width of the same. (1904 Code § 24.2)
