9-1-25: ENGINE BRAKING PROHIBITED:
   A.   Prohibition: No person shall operate or cause to be operated at or upon any municipal road any compression/release engine brake (engine braking) on any vehicle. For purposes of this section, a compression/release engine brake (engine braking) is a mechanical exhaust device designed to aid in the braking or deceleration of any vehicle by converting engine power to compressed air which results in additional, excessive, loud or explosive noise from such vehicle.    B.   Penalty: In addition to all other remedies, every person who violates, disobeys, omits, neglects or refuses to comply with this section shall be sentenced as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code for each offense. (Ord. 2011-29, 12-20-2011)
