8-2-2: DAMAGING PROPERTY:
   A.   It shall be unlawful for any person to wilfully, maliciously or negligently break, deface, injure or destroy any property within the village, whether such property is owned by the state, county, village or any other governmental body, or owned by any private person. Any person violating this provision shall be punished as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code. (1977 Code)
   B.   Any person who shall wantonly break the glass in any streetlamp or injure the burner thereof, or any part, wire or support thereof, or who shall, without proper authority from the village president and board of trustees, either light or extinguish the burner of any lamp in the village, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor. (1904 Code § 14.1)
