A. At the first regular meeting of the board of trustees held after the regular village election and qualification of the village president and/or members of the board (every 2 years), or as soon thereafter as is convenient, the village president and board of trustees shall appoint a village attorney and village engineer who shall hold office during the municipal years for which they are appointed, unless sooner removed and until their successors are appointed and qualified.
B. All officers not specifically listed in subsection A of this section shall be appointed by the village president, subject to the advice and consent of the village board, and shall serve for the term of office of the village president unless sooner removed and until their successors are appointed and qualified.
