500.005. Adoption.

The mandatory provisions of the Minnesota state building code, authorized by Minn. Stat. § 16B.61 and contained in Minnesota Rules, chapter 1300 et seq., are adopted by reference as the city building code, with the following additional optional provisions:

1.   IBC appendix chapter J, excavation and grading, except that permit fees for excavation and grading permits will be as specified in section 710 of this code; and

2.   chapter 1306, special fire protection systems, with option Subpart 2 of 1306.0020 (existing and new buildings).

All amendments to the mandatory portions of the Minnesota state building code will also be considered adopted and incorporated by reference in the city building code. One copy of the state building code and any codes that it incorporates by reference will remain on file in the city clerk's office.
