165.12  COURT TIME PAYMENTS FOR POLICE OFFICERS.
   (a)    Police officers in the Village shall be paid at their regular rate for time spent testifying in any court or administrative hearing on any criminal matter when such testimony evolves from their duties as police officers for the Village.
   (b)   Upon accumulation of eight hours or more of eligible court time by an individual police officer the Chief of Police shall certify the hours to the Treasurer at the next payroll period and the police officer shall be paid at his regular rate for the number of hours worked.
   (c)   No payments for court appearances at any hearing under subsections (a) and (b)
hereof shall be made without certification by the Solicitor, the County Prosecutor or the prosecuting authority at such hearing of the actual number of hours of court time accumulated.
