165.09  SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL.
   (a)   A shift differential shall be paid at the rate of fifteen cents (15¢) per hour for work performed during an afternoon shift and twenty cents (20¢) per hour for worked performed during a night shift in accordance with this section from April 1, 1979.

   (b)   The hours of work constituting a day shift, an afternoon shift and a night shift shall be determined by the various department heads in relation to the regular working schedules of the various department.
   (c)   In no case shall a day shift begin earlier than 6:00 a.m. nor later than 10:00 a.m. nor shall a day shift end earlier than 2:00 p.m. nor later than 6:00 p.m.
   (d)   In no case shall an afternoon shift begin earlier than 2:00 p.m. nor later than 6:00 p.m. nor shall an afternoon shift end earlier than 10:00 p.m. nor later than 2:00 a.m.
   (e)   In no case shall a night shift begin earlier than 10:00 p.m. nor later than 2:00 a.m. nor shall a night shift end earlier than 6:00 a.m. nor later than 10:00 a.m.
   (f)   In no case shall the number of hours designated as a particular shift exceed the normal number of daily working hours for full-time employees in the particular department.
   (g)   The various department heads shall submit the hours designated as a day, an afternoon shift and a night shift in writing to the Auditor prior to April 1, 1976, and shall notify the Auditor’s office prior to any subsequent change in these hours.
   (h)   This differential rate shall be effective as of April 1, 1976.
